LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY (LLLT) LIPOLYSIS treatment is the latest in laser lipolysis, offering you a way to achieve inch loss and body contouring with no pain, no needles and no down time.Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) was FDA cleared in 2010 for fat reduction. Initial enthusiasm regarding LLLT for the treatment of fat stemmed from the in vivo observation that a 635-nm laser caused a transitory pore within the adipocyte, resulting in release of lipids into the interstitial space, and subsequent deflation of the adipocyte. The pore itself does not damage the cell, but allows for the efflux of lipid contents from the cell into the interstitial space, which is then theorized to pass through the body. The mechanism of action is hypothesized to result from photoexcitation of cytochrome-c oxidase, a terminal enzyme of the respiratory chain within the mitochondria
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
The LLLT LIPOLYSIS TREATMENT emits low levels of laser energy (635nM), which creates a chemical signal in the fat cells, breaking down the stored triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol and releasing them though channels in the cell membranes. The fatty acids and glycerol are then transported around the body to the tissues that will use them during metabolism to create energy. This process of fatty acid release is a natural response of the body when the body needs to used stored energy reserves,
thus THIS TREATMENT is not creating any unnatural reaction in the body nor does it affect or damage any surrounding structures such as skin, blood vessels and peripheral nerves. A period of exercise post treatment will ensure the complete metabolism and thus elimination from the body of the free fatty acids.
When the laser paddles are placed on the skin, the cold red laser beams penetrate the skin just deep enough to reach the layers of fat. When the light hits the fat cells, a rapid chain of events takes place. Firstly, pores form on the cells causing them to spill out. The water, Glycerol and fatty acids move into the interstitial space beneath the fatty layer in the skin. Then further water, fatty acids and Glycerol spill out. The adipocyte cells are therefore reduced in size.
These effects do not affect the neighbouring structures such as the skin, blood vessels or nerves. The lymphatic system then removes the fat through the venous system, where they are processed in the same way as fatty foods that are digested.
